Purpose of the article is to review and analyze innovative technologies and teaching methods, the implementation of which requires maximum transformation of the educational process. The research methodology is the use of general scientific methods and techniques of scientific knowledge, which allows to reveal, analyze, and summarize the specific features of the introduction of innovative technologies and methods in the training of future professionals. The scientific novelty of the article is to summarize the key changes in education in general, based on improving the educational process through its transition to the technological level, finding promising innovative pedagogical methods aimed at development and self-development of the individual, new dimensions of self-realization. Comparative analysis of modern innovative pedagogical technologies and teaching methods provides an opportunity to focus on the need to update the content of the educational process. Conclusions. Innovative technologies and teaching methods that are most actively implemented in higher education in general and in the process of training future specialists in information, library and archival affairs are analyzed and described. It is proved that education and upbringing of the individual in the conditions of rapid information flow, dynamic development of society cannot be realized without innovations, innovative technologies and teaching methods, implementation of which improves the quality of the educational process, promotes its renewal, modernization, and transformation in accordance with the requirements of the time
